About
A publication abouthow homes work.
Style of Home covers interior and exterior design, decor and home improvement for people who want to understand the decisions behind a good room, not just look at one.

What we do, and what we don’t
We write about homes the way a good builder or designer talks about them: in materials, measurements and consequences. When we recommend a rug size, a paint finish or a bulb temperature, we give the number and the reason, so you can judge whether it applies to your room.
We are independent. No story on this site is sponsored, and no brand pays to appear in our guides. If we ever link to a product, it is because we are citing it, and we say why.
We correct our mistakes in the open. Every correction is noted at the foot of the story with the date it was made. Read our full editorial policy.
The editors
Every story carries the name of the person who reported it and is answerable for it.
- CW
Clara Whitfield
Editor-in-Chief · London
Interiors editor for fourteen years; trained in architectural history.
Clara edits the publication and writes on living rooms, lighting and layout. She has spent most of her career measuring other people’s rooms and is still surprised by how often a rug is the problem.
- AH
Amira Haddad
Decor & Colour Editor · Dubai
Textile designer turned writer; specialises in colour and natural fibres.
Amira covers paint, fabric and styling. She worked in textile development before moving into journalism, and tests every paint colour she writes about on her own walls first.
- TR
Tomás Reyes
Exteriors Editor · Melbourne
Landscape architect; writes on gardens for hot, dry climates.
Tomás practised as a landscape architect on residential gardens before joining the team. He writes about planting, paving and pools, with a strong preference for water-wise gardens.
- OP
Owen Pryce
Home Improvement Editor · Bristol
Ran residential renovation sites for a decade before writing about them.
Owen covers renovation, storage, smart home and maintenance. He managed refurbishment projects on period and new-build homes and writes the budgets section nobody else wants to.
